Terms of Service

1. What Chalk Is

Chalk is a coaching platform for youth baseball. It lets coaches:

• Create teams and manage rosters
• Generate optimized batting lineups
• Track batting and pitching statistics
• Import games and stats from GameChanger
• Receive game reminders and weekly summary emails

Chalk is a tool to help you coach. It doesn't replace your judgment — lineup suggestions are just suggestions.

2. Who Can Use Chalk

• You must be 18 years or older to create an account.
• Chalk is intended for coaches, team managers, and league administrators of youth sports teams.
• Players do not have accounts and may not use the service directly.

3. Your Account

• You're responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity under your account.
• Provide accurate information when signing up.
• Notify us immediately at support@chalkbaseball.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
• One account per person. Don't share accounts.

4. Acceptable Use

Use Chalk for its intended purpose: managing youth baseball teams. You agree not to:

• Enter false, misleading, or harmful information about players
• Use the service to harass, embarrass, or harm anyone — especially minors
• Attempt to access other users' data or accounts
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the service
• Use the service for any unlawful purpose
• Import data from GameChanger or other services in violation of their terms

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

5. Player Data Responsibility

As a coach, you are responsible for the player information you enter into Chalk. By adding players to a roster, you confirm that you have appropriate authority (as a coach, manager, or league official) to manage that team's information.

6. Subscriptions and Billing

Chalk offers a Free tier and a Pro tier.

• Payments are processed by Stripe (or Apple/Google via app stores). We never store your card details.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled.
• You can cancel anytime — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Prices may change with advance notice.
• No refunds are provided for partial billing periods, except where required by law.

7. Intellectual Property

Chalk and all its content, features, and functionality are owned by Chalk Baseball and protected by copyright and other laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the service without our permission.

Your data (teams, rosters, stats) belongs to you. We don't claim ownership of content you create.

8. Availability and Modifications

We aim for high availability but don't guarantee uninterrupted service. We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time. We'll do our best to give advance notice for significant changes.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Chalk Baseball is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Chalk Baseball from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in courts located in San Diego County, California.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll notify you of material changes by email or in the app. Continued use of Chalk after changes take effect means you accept the new Terms.
